Our family has been going here for many years. I love their champong (Jam Pong) soup as it's nice and spicy. The broth and noodles are delicious. My hubby got the Singapore noodles (never had anything like it before), he really liked it and would order it again. My parents are jajjangmyun noodle (Ja Ja Noodle) experts, well, this time was a bit of a disappointment as it lacked a bit of flavor and had a lot less ingredients (shrimp, pork etc) in the sauce plus they didn't have any kimchi. This restaurant has been around a while and they have renovated it to make it a nicer ambiance. I know there are a lot of regulars and it's pretty good restaurant overall.

New mandarin is one of my favorite places to eat. We drive 45 min to satisfy our Chinese food craving. No other place comes close. We have been dining here for years and they are extremely consistent! My favorite dish is the almond boneless chicken. I get it every time. Other favs are the spicy garlic green beans, vegetable fried rice, Kung pao chicken and emperors shrimp. The service is always good, and food is always fresh.

Best Chinese food I've had in a long time. My kids agree too. Totally coming back. Ambiance and service are excellent. And I don't get a free fortune cookie for this post

I have been going to New Mandarin Garden my whole life. It has been several years since we have been because of the proximity to where I currently live. We decided to celebrate my birthday here this year. My wife, daughter, and I arrived for dinner on a busy Saturday night. Thankfully we were able to get a table rather quickly. Service is always great and the drinks are always filled quickly. I ordered Mongolian beef and sizzling rice soup. My wife and daughter both got wonton soup and shared beef and stir fry wide noodles. The soups all came out quickly with a little show of dropping the crunchy rice into the soup for sizzling rice. The broth is a very nice light chicken broth with chunks of chicken, shrimp, peas, and other veggies. The same for the wonton soup, but with 2 nice wontons inside. The Mongolian beef is super tasty and tender, with plenty left to take home. The stir fry noodles are almost reminiscent of Thai wide noodles. It was peppery in all the right ways. Again, lots to take home. The restaurant has a really nice updated feel. I always loved their fish tanks as a kid and they are still very lively. Do yourself a favor and check out this Farmington Hills institution. My family has loved this spot for all 42 years I have been alive.

I forgot how much I liked this place. It's. It quite nearby. So we don't come over this way often. But since we were nearby, I figured we'd stop by. And it was very good. The seafood soup was filled with veggies. And the entree was Mongolian trio and had a lot of delicious protein and also a sweet and slightly spicy sauce. Overall enjoyed the meal a lot. And the service was very good too.

When I was pregnant with my oldest, 25 years ago, I had some bad Chinese food and that was it, I swore it off, much to my husbands chagrin. We did find a place eventually but I was far from adventurous and my usual order of chicken friend rice and wanton soup seems to go down in quality and up in grease the last few times we got take out, so when the craving for Chinese food hit, I did a Yelp search that led us to New Mandarin Garden. Do not let the location or the sketchy parking lot detour you, the place was surprisingly nice. Updated décor lends to an intimate dining experience and the table of full of elder Chinese couples lent a legitimacy to the cuisine. The food was excellent. I got the wanton soup, sesame chicken with chicken fried rice and my husband got the Empress shrimp and shrimp fried rice. Service was good but I think we could have gotten a little more input about what we were ordering. The fried rice was not just an upcharge, it was a whole separate item and large enough to share. The portions were not gigantic but I did have enough to take home a whole other meal. Subsequently the price was a little shocking, almost $80 before tip just for the two of us. This did include cocktails. A great place for date night and a nice change from Chinese take out. I look forward to returning in the future.

Would give it five stars immediately for service, very attentive and friendly staff. I think we had four people waiting on us when we came in at 4:30 on a weekday. It's nicely decorated in here and a few years back I came and had a beer at the bar, but I've never actually dined post covid here . I really liked the wonton and sizzling rice soup, and they knocked it out of the park with the cream cheese rangoons. I like that they have the American Chinese food favorites like almond boneless chicken here my husband is satisfied with it. For carry out. I have ordered the Kung pal chicken and felt like it was too much sauce. I ordered a green bean and shrimp entrée recently and it also was overly sauced. this is the only reason I am taking away a star. I definitely will come back and try some other entrées.

OMG!! Don't miss out on this Hidden Gem!! Friends called to meet for dinner and I decided to look here on Yelp for restaurant that was reasonably priced that was midway between our homes. New Mandarin Garden was at the top of recommended Asian restaurants. (Thanks Yelpers!) NMG didn't disappoint. This was one of the BEST Asian dinners I've had in a very long time. We ordered the dinner for 2, which was a great value. 4 Crab Rangoon, 2 egg rolls, a giant bowl of soup + 2 entrees of Mongolian Beef and Chicken and Green beans that was AMAZING!! The service was prompt, attentive and friendly, and the restaurant itself is tastefully appointed and super clean. This is my new go to for Asian food!! Well done!!
